I’m a visual artist and photographer working from my Leith Studio at Out of the Blue Drill Hall.
I’m a member of Neuk Collective, Society of Scottish Artists and Visual Arts Scotland.
I play with digital and analogue photography, alternative processing techniques, collage, printing, video, poetry, writing, mixed media along with creating installation pieces. My work is how I process big feelings of all kinds, ponder all the human things like love, desire, grief, death and autonomy, often focussing on connection - to self, to creative energy, to nature and through collaboration.
Creative play has helped me process medical trauma from Crohn’s Disease and Poland Syndrome, past abusive relationships and my neurodivergence. It is magic in the mundane, it’s keeping yer childlike wonder as the world burns.
I love spending time in galleries full of torturously tactile paintings we aren’t allowed to touch, I collect art books and biographies, I love music but lack the patience and discipline to learn an instrument so I use visual art to express my songs. I often reference my past life in the Scottish music industry as it was quite the time to be alive. My photography is inspired by the shoreline at home, the beachy tones, ever changing weather and wide horizon - a reminder to be in the moment when I tend to overthink.
