I began making these self portraits soon after leaving a difficult relationship and becoming a single parent in 2016. It was an effort to make sense of the roles that are expected of women, regardless of how they’ve been treated and to unravel truths from fictions. I revisited in 2019 to create an image that opened up an opportunity to discuss my experiences of living with Poland Syndrome and then it just evolved into a fun, safe and surreal place, somewhere to make sense of the chaos in my brains and heart around my desires, fears, self exploration and love of crisps.
