IMAGINED SHORES : PHOTOGRAPHY

Living by the sea, it’s impossible not to be inspired by the coastline and the every changing light. A little regular ritual of walking along the length of the bay with music and the dog, taking phone snaps of inspiration…this is a selection of those images which felt quite unreal in the moment alongside some digital and film photography from other beaches in Spain and on the Isle of Skye. An ever-growing collection of images.

A series of black and white 35mm film shots from An Corran beach. In the darkroom, further exploring the idea of sacred circles which I’ve made medium format images with in Portobello. These have since become mounted collages with a layer of acrylic over the top.

The beach forever changes, the fleeting nature of the flotsam and light is always inspirational, there’s things to see when you slow down and let imagination play. These are a mix of 35mm, phone and digital photographs. Each informing other works, in their own ways.
