Just East of Edinburgh is a whole different landscape - quaint harbour towns, castle ruins, beautiful beaches, woodlands, distilleries, boat trips and water sports, golf, spas, coffee shops and some beautiful small self catering accommodation perfect for two. There are also huge country houses, town houses, lodges and eco cabins perfect for groups.
East Lothian is a perfect option for couples keep to wed outside in Scotland but not necessarily wild about hiking up a mountain in the freezing rain or being eaten alive by midgies like happens during those beautiful little ceremonies up in the sweeping Scottish Highlands. East Lothian has way more infrastructure in place for couples looking for an outdoor experience too, and only 30 mins drive or train from the centre of Edinburgh.
There’s plenty of indoor ceremony options and some great food, Scottish pubs and cocktail bars as well as local caterers happy to arrange a bespoke meal and canapes for groups.
How does it work?
We’ll have a quick online chat to say hello. Then once we’ve booked in I’ll send you a list of ideas, we figure out which ideas work best and I gather availability. I then put you in touch directly with however you chose to work with. I can also help with the timeline for the day.
I am firstly a photographer and for tiny weddings and elopements I recommend my half day package.
I charge a nominal fee to help photography clients with my design assistance. I can hook you up with any suppliers you feel you’d like for your celebration day - florals, cake, celebrant to officiate your legal or token ceremony, hair and makeup, music, decor, catering, entertainment, videographer…you can have whatever you’d like and ditch whatever doesn’t suit you.
I’ll also recommend spaces for your ceremony and whatever else you’d like to do - a meal, somewhere to stay or something you can do with a handful of guests.

Booking process.
Working together begins with a decent conversation.
All enquiries start via the contact form, where you can share an outline of your project, celebration, or photography needs. From there, we arrange an initial online consultation to discuss your ideas, requirements, timing and whether the offering feels like the right fit.
Following our conversation, you will receive a tailored quote and booking fee invoice. Once accepted, your booking is secured and you will be sent a client questionnaire to gather the practical details, preferences and visual direction needed to shape the session or coverage.
For wedding and elopement photography in Edinburgh, East Lothian and across Scotland, the process becomes a little more tailored to your coverage.
Full day wedding clients are invited to meet in person where possible for a planning conversation and a short 15-minute practice portrait session to get the cringe out the way before the big day! And to get a feel for how I work, it’s more about capturing your connection and trying to ignore that I’m there. This offers a relaxed opportunity to connect before the day and helps camera-shy couples feel more comfortable being photographed. For shorter hourly or half day packages, planning is usually completed through an online consultation.
Once your wedding or elopement timeline is finalised, coverage is photographed with a documentary-led and subtly editorial approach, balancing natural storytelling with gentle direction where helpful.
After your wedding, a small selection of sneak peek images is shared within the first few days so you have something to revisit and share while the full gallery is being prepared.
Final wedding and elopement galleries are delivered within 4–6 weeks, carefully edited and presented via private online gallery.
Across all commissions, the process is designed to feel collaborative, thoughtful, and calm — creating space for authentic imagery with atmosphere, emotional depth and visual longevity.
We’ve also teamed up with a couple of local legends who offer beautiful and varied self catering accommodation in the most glorious quiet spots. We can offer a beautiful tiny secret log cabin in the woods or a sophisticated modern cabin on a private beach, a cottage with a garden or a steading near a harbour town. Sleeping from 2 to 8 people so we can also cater for any nearest and dearest. There are also many larger lodges, townhouses, castles, cottages and cabins in the area, catering for all budgets.
