Film Wedding & Brand Photography Scotland
35mm and medium format photography for weddings, elopements, brands and creative portraits
Film photography has always been part of how I see the world. Long before digital convenience, I was drawn to analogue processes — the slower pace, the attention to light, and the subtle imperfections that make photographs feel lived-in rather than produced.
Today I photograph a blend of 35mm film, medium-format analogue photography and digital work across weddings, elopements, portrait commissions, brand storytelling and personal art projects throughout Edinburgh, Scotland and beyond.
For many of the couples and creative clients I work with, film isn’t a trend — it’s a shared appreciation for craft, texture, atmosphere and authenticity.
Why Choose Film Photography?
Analogue photography creates a distinct visual language:
Soft tonal depth and natural grain
Timeless colour and black-and-white rendering
Gentle, editorial aesthetic
A slower, more intentional photographic experience
Images that feel tactile and atmospheric rather than overly polished
Film suits people who want photography to feel relaxed, honest and culturally grounded — whether that’s an Edinburgh elopement, a Scottish coastal wedding, a personal portrait session or thoughtful brand imagery.

Film Weddings & Elopements in Scotland
Film photography works beautifully for:
Creative weddings and intimate celebrations
Destination elopements in Edinburgh and across Scotland
Coastal ceremonies and nature-led gatherings
Couples who prefer natural, unobtrusive documentation
Because analogue photography encourages patience and observation, it often helps camera-shy couples relax into the moment rather than performing for it.
Many international couples travelling to Scotland specifically seek out film wedding photography for its timeless quality and emotional depth.
Film for Brand, Editorial & Portrait Photography
Alongside weddings, I regularly photograph on film for:
Creative brand campaigns
Editorial portraiture
Independent businesses and makers
Artists, musicians and cultural projects
Lifestyle and product storytelling
Film photography aligns particularly well with:
Slow living brands
Sustainable products
Independent food, drink and hospitality
Fashion, art and cultural work
The aesthetic supports authenticity and craft-led storytelling.
Analogue Photography as Art Practice
My film work also informs my personal art practice — including exhibitions, print releases and my Sounds from the Sea art subscription, where analogue photography often appears alongside cyanotypes, prints and seasonal visual storytelling inspired by the Scottish coastline.
This crossover between commissioned photography and artistic exploration shapes how I approach every project:
Observational, atmospheric and rooted in place.
Sounds from the Sea — Art by Post from Scotland
Alongside commissioned photography, I share part of my analogue art practice through Sounds from the Sea, a seasonal art-by-mail subscription inspired by Scotland’s shoreline and coastal atmosphere.
Each monthly delivery typically includes a curated mix of:
Film photography prints and photographic studies
Cyanotypes and experimental analogue processes
Giclée fine art prints and postcards
Handmade or small-batch artworks
A written studio letter, occasional stickers and thoughtful extras
The subscription reflects the slower, observational side of my photography — the textures, light shifts and quiet moments that often shape both my wedding and portrait work.
Many collectors first encounter my photography through commissions or collaborations and choose to join the subscription as a way to stay connected to ongoing creative projects.
If you’re drawn to analogue imagery, coastal storytelling or tactile photographic work, it’s a gentle way to experience new pieces throughout the year.

My Approach to Film Photography
Clients often describe my work as:
Relaxed and unobtrusive
Editorial without feeling staged
Culturally aware and location sensitive
Intentional rather than trend-driven
Warm, natural and quietly expressive
I work primarily in Edinburgh and throughout Scotland, but frequently collaborate with international couples, artists and brands seeking a more local, authentic experience.
Considering Film Photography?
Whether you’re planning:
A Scottish wedding or elopement
Creative portrait session
Brand storytelling imagery
Editorial collaboration
Or simply want photographs that feel timeless and considered
Film can add depth and atmosphere that digital alone rarely achieves.
You can explore my portfolio throughout the site or get in touch to talk through ideas, availability and how film photography might fit your plans.
Whether you’re planning a wedding or elopement in Scotland, creating thoughtful brand imagery, commissioning portraits, or simply drawn to analogue photography, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
I’m always happy to talk through ideas, locations, creative direction or how film photography might fit your plans.
And if you’re more interested in the artistic side of my work, you can explore Sounds from the Sea, my seasonal art-by-post subscription sharing film photography, prints and small studio pieces inspired by Scotland’s coastline.

Analogue photography encourages presence. There’s no instant review, no rapid-fire shooting, just observation, trust and timing. That often helps couples or portrait clients who feel camera shy; the process becomes collaborative rather than performative.
