The Elopement Society (ssssh, its a secret society for illicit romance) offers an 'Escape to Edinburgh Elopement Package'.

Designed for wee weddings and elopements in picture perfect Edinburgh, I gather your ideal suppliers, supporting local independent creative businesses.

We have a simple base package featuring half day photography + celebrant to officiant & help plan the ceremony + flowers + cake, all from around £3500. We can also help with any other suppliers, spaces and venues, from places to eat and drink to music and entertainment, hair & makeup - whatever you need to make the day yours.

We’re the local tastemakers, the ideas folks, the industry renegades. We share all the secrets and stop planning from afar feeling like mission impossible. We’re here to make sure you feel like locals and that your celebration spaces become a home from home. As my design assistance is an add-on to my photography services, I don’t charge you the same fees as a traditional planner would have to.

We’re affordable, creative, relaxed and eco-focussed. We’re often the first to suggest local spaces become elopement services or the first to use them. So come for creative, modern, fuss-free solutions to build a truly unique and special experience you can treasure.

Proud member of Rebel Love Directory, always aiming to become a better ally for LGBTQ+ couples.

Using my local knowledge and little black book of local creatives, makers, venues and spaces, we lean into your love story to curate a beautifully unique day that you will never forget. We can stop at all the famous spots but we’ll also take you to the places us locals love so you get a feel for the real Edinburgh while you are in town.

Booking process.

Working together begins with a decent conversation.

All enquiries start via the contact form, where you can share an outline of your project, celebration, or photography needs. From there, we arrange an initial online consultation to discuss your ideas, requirements, timing and whether the offering feels like the right fit.

Following our conversation, you will receive a tailored quote and booking fee invoice. Once accepted, your booking is secured and you will be sent a client questionnaire to gather the practical details, preferences and visual direction needed to shape the session or coverage.

For wedding and elopement photography in Edinburgh, East Lothian and across Scotland, the process becomes a little more tailored to your coverage.

Full day wedding clients are invited to meet in person where possible for a planning conversation and a short 15-minute practice portrait session to get the cringe out the way before the big day! And to get a feel for how I work, it’s more about capturing your connection and trying to ignore that I’m there. This offers a relaxed opportunity to connect before the day and helps camera-shy couples feel more comfortable being photographed. For shorter hourly or half day packages, planning is usually completed through an online consultation.

Once your wedding or elopement timeline is finalised, coverage is photographed with a documentary-led and subtly editorial approach, balancing natural storytelling with gentle direction where helpful.

After your wedding, a small selection of sneak peek images is shared within the first few days so you have something to revisit and share while the full gallery is being prepared.

Final wedding and elopement galleries are delivered within 4–6 weeks, carefully edited and presented via private online gallery.

Across all commissions, the process is designed to feel collaborative, thoughtful, and calm — creating space for authentic imagery with atmosphere, emotional depth and visual longevity.

Fun little fact: during my hair trial, Monica asked me why we chose Edinburgh to get married, and my answer without hesitation: that’s where Solen is.

When we decided to elope, I spent a good few weeks foraging the internet for inspiration, unsure if we’d go somewhere exotic or closer to home. I came across castles and beaches, highlands and barns, but none of them felt like us. Then I found The Elopement Society and everything just clicked. Your work, your vibe, and of course your blatant disregard of traditional wedding rules. You are a delight to work with.

You can get married ANY-WHERE in Scotland. Venues no longer need to be licensed for a wedding — this makes our services a cost effective way of designing a day unique to you.

Of course, we have many favourite spots, venues and hideaways in case you need some ideas! We currently cover Edinburgh and East Lothian, with it’s untapped potential - beautiful beaches, woods, castle ruins, coffee shops, distilleries and historic harbour towns, there are a heap of options to make your celebration there feel utterly unique and off the radar.

Eloping is freedom

We specialise in designing Edinburgh elopements and small scale weddings for up to around 20 guests, that are as unique and thoughtful as all the moments that led you to this special day.

Bringing together the best creative businesses, venues and suppliers in our favourite neighbourhoods ensures that your wedding day is one you’ll never forget.

With our little black book of independent creative suppliers, you can rest assured that your day will be as unique as your love story. Check out our elopement stories from couples that have come before to see how each elopement comes alive in unrecognisable ways.
