SELF
Iām not usually a fan of traditions, except the ones we build for ourselves. Iāve a deep distrust of prescribed fun so itās partly my innate contrariness but I have over the last 3 years given myself a creative challenge at the start of the new year. Itās not a resolution, ok.
Firstly, I made a self portrait from my red room series to discuss my experiences of living with Poland Syndrome, the following year I made a little flipbook machine of me dancing cos I was desperate to stop feeling self conscious sober dancing at gigs (worked a treat) and this year I started back in the darkroom on a series of 35mm black and white nude self portraits, exploring my autonomy and getting back into the meditative processes of printing.
Hereās the fruits of that surreal journey so far. And yeah, I should really dust and sweep up before I make these but itās not likelyā¦
