The Elopers: Jessi + Adam’s East Lothian Micro-Wedding

The lovely Jessi and Adam chose our little Secret Cabin idea for their wedding celebration which ended up being a beautiful hot summer day spent with close family and friends on the idyllic Tyninghame Beach, East Lothian.

Our East Lothian elopements offer a two night stay at the beautiful, secluded Secret Cabin which is hidden from the world and accessed by a short walk through the trees. The cabin has a secluded garden, with fire pit and is walking distance from Seacliff Beach and some beautiful woodlands.

The Elopement Society brings together a trusted selection of wonderful celebrants that help design and deliver the ceremony you want and to assist with the legal paperwork. Also included in the package is a half day shoot with one of our photographers (this time, it was moi!), florals, a seafood platter delivered to the cabin, bridal hair by Emma Combe in North Berwick and there’s also options for cake and booze delivered to your door too.

Jessi and Adam did all the above swapping out the wine for Lind and Lime gin and Bon Accord tonics. They brought their own gluten free cake. They gathered a wee crew of friends and family, a fancy wee cart full of platters, blankets and some decorative home comforts and bonfire stuff, some music and tech wizardry to allow for family and friends further afield to join in and walked through the woods together to the beach.

I got Kathryn into the clear sparkly sea. They played lush tunes and just grinned like loved up humans all day long.

I took the photos on the day, Kathryn was celebrant, Rachael at Hedgerow was on florals…and it was just the best day at work, ever. I got Kathryn into the clear sparkly sea. They played lush tunes and just grinned like loved up humans all day long. Then after we took a little wander around the beach and woods for photos, family had some snacks and got to work building a bonfire for later.

It’s really hard to describe the atmosphere of a beautiful clear warm day on the beach in East Lothian but it’s pretty dreamy, slow and lush. It’s just perfect for romantic chill stuff. These two just were so so happy all day long, it was an absolute treat to work with them.

we don’t deal in off-the-shelf

We know that the wedding industry traditionally serves couples many quotes, hidden costs and “upgrades”. The Elopement Society loves nothing more than offering our couples transparency from the outset. What you see in our packages is a guide to a really great day ~we promise~ but we remain flexible and reactive based to your needs, beliefs and desires.
