Sounds From the Sea:Art by Post Club
Seasonal analogue art inspired by the Scottish coastline
Sounds From the Sea is my seasonal art by post subscription — a monthly delivery of analogue photography, art prints and small studio pieces inspired by Scotland’s shoreline, shifting light and coastal atmosphere.
Created slowly from my Edinburgh studio, each mailing blends:
35mm film photographic prints
handmade cyanotype prints
giclée fine art prints
postcards and small artworks
handwritten letters, stickers and surprise studio treats
It’s designed for people who love art, photography and tactile creativity… something to open, keep and live with.
A Photography Art Subscription Rooted in Slow Creativity
Much of my work begins outdoors with headphones on, walks along the Scottish coast, harbours, beaches and tidal edges…and then moves into the studio where analogue processes shape the final pieces. Film photography and alternative processing take centre stage, the slow nature of alchemy and creative experiments. I find myself increasingly struggling with the flood of news on socials, the every-changing goalposts for using those spaces for promoting work, the creeping away from what feels social and natural into something loud and angry. I want to claim back slow, intentional and kind connection. You are welcome to join us.
Three Art Subscription Tiers
You can choose the level that suits how you collect art, monthly each will consist of:
Postcard Tier
Small seasonal print/postcard, notes and occasional extras.
Print Collector Tier
Fine art photography prints, analogue artwork and curated studio pieces.
Studio Collector Tier
Limited edition artworks, handmade items, experimental prints and exclusive extras.
All tiers include a monthly letter sharing creative process, inspiration and coastal notes. There’s a UK and international price as postage is included in the subscription (or you can just sign up for a single month if you like the look of the work for that haul).
For Lovers of Analogue Photography, Art & Independent Culture
Many subscribers also connect with:
film photography
independent creative culture
slow living values
thoughtful interiors
supporting working artists
It’s intentionally niche and personal. It’s also an offering for continued contact for my wedding and elopement clients. I love working on these milestones, often local clients will bring me onboard for other briefs - creative projects, headshots for their work, family parties and other celebrations. But my international couples aren’t here to shoot with again, so we can keep in touch through this, my socials and writing on substack, and they can continue to inspire my creative work. As it grows I hope it brings new audiences to my work and my city too.
Want Art Through Your Letterbox?
For lovers of slow seasons, the joy of mail that isn’t a brown envelope bill, for those who find the ever-changing coastline as inspiring as I do, for those who enjoy tactile and analogue art… No pressure, just creative correspondence.
