Event : Woven Whisky + Ellis Mhairi Cameron + Aetla

I loved shooting this whisky tasting event with Woven Whisky and Ellis Mhairi Cameron at Aetla.

A bit of quiet torture for a sober whisky lover.

Hands down the most aesthetically pleasing pictures I’ve seen from a whisky tasting event. LOVING your style and the way you’ve captured that evening. Thank you.
— Duncan at Woven Whisky

A lively evening to celebrate Ellis’s amazing trunk show at Aetla. Her work is just beautiful. I love shooting this events, I get to pretend I’m a wee photo pirate and fondle lots of exquisite handmade jewellery and play with the light in Aetla’s lush little store.

Thanks to the team at Aetla, including Amy Wilson PR and to Pete and the team at Woven, to Mhairi and everyone who attended for being tipsy and great to photograph.

Brand photography and portraiture come together in this editorial event feature, documenting a creative collaboration between Woven Whisky, Ellis Mhairi Cameron, and Aetla in Edinburgh. This series captures the atmosphere, craftsmanship, and personality behind the event through natural, documentary-style portraiture and authentic visual storytelling.

The Woven Whisky showcase highlighted the intersection of design, culture, and contemporary Scottish creativity. Through thoughtful brand photography, each moment was captured with intention — from close-up details of craftsmanship to candid portraits of guests interacting with the work. The use of natural light and film-inspired color tones helps reinforce a timeless, editorial aesthetic that aligns with modern brand storytelling standards.

Portraiture plays a key role in communicating identity within this project. Rather than staged or overly posed imagery, the focus remains on relaxed, authentic expressions. This approach strengthens brand presence while maintaining a natural connection between subject and environment. For businesses and creative brands, this style of photography is particularly powerful, as it builds visual trust and emotional engagement with audiences.

The collaboration with Aetla provided a beautifully designed environment that enhanced the visual narrative. Textures, materials, and ambient lighting were carefully considered during the shoot to ensure that every frame supported the overall brand story. This is where professional brand photography becomes more than documentation — it becomes a strategic marketing and creative asset.

For SEO and digital visibility, this series emphasizes search-friendly themes such as brand photography in Edinburgh, event portraiture, and creative lifestyle storytelling. These keywords help improve discoverability while maintaining a natural, human-centered narrative that resonates with both audiences and search algorithms.

Through this project, the goal remains simple: create photography that feels authentic, expressive, and meaningful while supporting strong brand identity through visual storytelling.
