Event : Alison MacLeod + Aetla

THANK YOU Alison MacLeod for asking me along to record the 20th anniversary party for her beautiful jewellery business, hosted by Aetla.

Aetla kind of adopted me this summer, we worked together on several events in the store along with a brand commission and editorial shoot. I’ve loved working with their super creative wee team so here’s to more coming soon-ish.

I met Alison back when I was in the Wedding Collective and I’ve always loved her work. This party was to celebrate 20 years in the trade and to launch her new collection - The Memoried Collection - inspired by emeralds (traditionally gifted on 20th anniversaries), by nature and memories of building dens and finding hidden steps around Alison’s childhood home on the grounds of a Victorian mansion.

The light in Aetla on a sunny summer’s evening is a playground, loved it. It’s a beautiful space to host parties and for everyone to explore the treasures.

For this event, food and cocktails were provided by Aetla’s neighbours, Skua (can confirm the canapes were delicious) and the flower displays by Pyrus.

Click below to read Alison’s journal about the evening, the celebration and her inspiration since starting out in jewellery making.

Shout out to Rowanjoy who made Alison’s amazing skirt and to Amy Wilson PR for arranging the event with Aetla.
